Rob Currie

Hey, I'm Rob, and I'm a regular guy from Dundee. I do a few things, but I mainly write fiction, which you can read here.

I’m doing some writing right now, but my thoughts are deviating from the thing I’m writing, to my writing in general, and I just got the urge to note things down (more for myself than anything else, but publishing it online feels like it’d give me the impetus to improve (and now I can tell I’m in “writing mode,” cos I’d never ever use a word like “impetus” day-to-day)).

I’m working on a play, which has been brewing in my head for a few weeks now, and I started actually writing it yesterday.  It’s going fine, and that’s not really the problem.

The problem is, I could list about five things I’ve started writing and haven’t finished.  All of them are (IMHO) good ideas, and one of them is actually so close to being finished I honestly don’t know why I don’t just finish it.  But that’s the problem anyway - an inability to finish what I’ve started.

I guess I would argue that I’m better writing the thing that’s forefront in my head at the time, rather than labouring over something I’m not in the mood of.

Oh shut up head.  Get back to work.
